The fourth dimension of scent.
Posh Stink is a concept London perfumerie by Alkeme Design: one batch a year, four fragrances, one for each season, 300 numbered bottles each. The brand lives on a website built from particles, where every bottle is a cloud of hundreds of thousands of points that breaks apart and gathers again as the seasons change.
The problem
Perfume is sold with the same picture everywhere: a glossy bottle on marble, a model, a word like timeless. Online it is even flatter, because you cannot smell a website. We wanted a perfume brand that feels like a scent before you ever smell it: something that moves, changes and disappears, the way a fragrance does on skin.
The concept
The fourth dimension of scent is time. Posh Stink makes one batch a year, one fragrance for each season, and every season has one colour: red for the volcanic summer of Smoky Magma, orange for the autumn mischief of Monkey Punch, white for the electric winter of Cold Tsunami and green for the poisonous spring of Poison Dart. On the website nothing is printed. The bottle, the menu, even the text are made of particles, and when you scroll the season breaks into a cloud and gathers again as the next one.
Logo design
The bottle is the logo: the cylinder and the faceted cap drawn in one heavy line, with Posh Stink set large on the label. One mark used three ways: on black, in the colour of the season, and on its own as the favicon.

Packaging design and art direction
One bottle for all four fragrances: a heavy cylinder of clear glass, a black cap faceted like a cut stone and a label with three lines only, Posh Stink, the name of the fragrance and Eau de Parfum. The art direction gives every fragrance a single colour from edge to edge, so the clear bottle takes the season around it: volcanic red, papaya orange, ice white and rainforest green.

Web design and UX
The website tells the collection in four acts, one season for every scroll. Scroll interaction: one gesture moves exactly one fragrance and holds it until the text has been read. The transitions carry the story: the photograph breaks into particles, the whole page takes the colour of the next season and the next bottle gathers out of the cloud. User interaction: the cursor moves the particles like a hand through smoke, the menu cards come down out of the buttons, and left alone the site turns the seasons by itself.
Marketing
Every fragrance is sold on notes nobody else would bottle, written to be repeated: volcanic ash and black lava salt, durian and monkey-spit coffee, ozone and cannabis leaf, frog skin and the beetle a poison dart frog takes its venom from. One batch a year, 300 numbered bottles and a waiting list instead of a shop turn the launch into a queue.

Web design on mobile
The same site on a phone, one swipe for one season: the bottle gathers out of the particles, the page follows the colour of the season and the details come in only when the image is complete.

Questions we get
Can Alkeme Design create a brand for a new perfume or fragrance line?
Yes. For Posh Stink we did the whole brand: the names and notes of the fragrances, the logo, the packaging, the art direction for the product photography, the website and the copy. A new perfume line can start from any of these or from all of them at once.
Do you design perfume packaging: the bottle, the cap and the label?
Yes. We design the label artwork, the look of the bottle and the cap, and the outer box on a correct dieline, and deliver print-ready files your supplier can produce without back-and-forth.
Can you build an interactive website like Posh Stink for my brand?
Yes. Posh Stink runs on WebGL in the browser, with no plugins: product photographs turned into particles, one fragrance per scroll, transitions in the colour of each product and a waiting list for every launch. The same approach works for any product with a strong image.
How long does a perfume brand and website take?
Most brand websites take 6 to 12 weeks, and larger interactive builds like this one take longer. You get a timeline when the project is scoped and you work directly with the founder from start to finish.
Do you work with perfume and beauty brands in London and the UK?
Yes. Alkeme Design works remotely with perfume, beauty and personal care brands in London, across the UK, the European Union, the US and the Middle East.
Decisions, and why
One colour per season
Photograph, text, menu and particles all turn the colour of the fragrance, so each season reads as its own world.
Nothing is printed
The bottle, the menu and every word on the page are made of particles, the way a scent is made of something you cannot hold.
One scroll, one season
Each scroll moves exactly one fragrance and holds it until it can be read, instead of letting the page run away.
The result
Posh Stink is a one-page WebGL website with four fragrances, an intro scored to six tracks of music, a particle system built from four photographs and their depth maps, a waiting list for every batch and an llms.txt that tells AI assistants what each bottle smells like.
